For one night or longer, a stop in Vézelay to discover the Eternal Hill is a “must” during your stay at Hôtel Au Soleil d’Or. Lying on the Way of St James, between heaven and earth, come and visit Vézelay and its basilica. For the beauty of the location, its heritage and the surrounding landscape, this is said to be one of the prettiest villages in France.
The location of Hôtel Au Soleil d’Or at the entrance to Morvan national park allows you to benefit from its ideal position for a stroll around Avallon or a visit to the many castles including Bazoches – residence of Vauban – and the many lakes and other sites. If these are not enough for you, Guédelon Castle and Fontenay Abbey are also nearby.
As a couple, with friends or for a residential seminar: get away from it all, stroll through the vineyards of Vézelay, Chablis or Irancy, sample the local wines, walk the trails of Morvan national park with its myriad of lakes… a guaranteed escape!

All our rooms are furnished with a comfortable bed, a television offering a range of Canal+ channels, free Wi-Fi, an en suite bathroom and toilet, and access to the heated swimming pool in the annex, which is 50 metres from Hôtel Au Soleil d’Or in a wooded garden.
When you return from your day out, there is bar furnished in vintage red and yellow décor, or why not enjoy a drink on a sofa or on the terrace? You will also find a pool table and table football here.
Our superior rooms, ideal for a medium-length or longer stay, are furnished with a king size bed and a lounge area.
Our standard rooms have a double bed, and the toilet is separate from the shower room.
Our economy rooms are located at the front, likewise well furnished, and adequate for a pilgrim on the Way of St James or for an overnight stop in Pontaubert, between Avallon and Vézelay.
